Candlelight Carols

Since 1954, the Music Department’s production of Candlelight Carols has ushered in the Christmas season for friends and families throughout the Chicagoland area and the world.

This performance features student music ensembles including the Chorale, Men’s Collegiate Choir, Symphonic Band, and Women’s Concert Choir and Bell Ensemble. Each year these ensembles perform festive music enhanced by lighting, drama, and multimedia.  This year’s theme will compare lowly Bethlehem with the grandeur of Jerusalem.  This contrast encourages reflection on Christ’s humble gift, given in such an unexpected way, and begs the question, “Why Bethlehem?”

Ten thousand people attend Candlelight Carols each season and thousands more hear the program broadcast on Moody Radio stations and on the Internet.  We invite you to experience this year’s Candlelight Carols in celebration of the birth of the Savior!
